The music reliefs are my grateful tribute to the music, to the musicians' courageous exposure, the joy of the beauty of the instruments and my harding fiddle-playing grandfather.
The saxophone is for me a symbol of Kongsberg Jazz Festival. The festival has been an important part of my life and I have been an official there for many years. I could not make a series of music reliefs without a saxophone.
My childhood best friend and corps enthusiast Nina Ek lent me her soprano scissors as a model. "Saxophone Dance" and "Women's Sax" are the first reliefs that were created. In "Damesax" a woman's bone appeared and the old nurse in me, who is very fond of anatomy, was pleased.
